depends on where you get it. it can range from 500 to 1,500 dollars for a pure breed dog, but if you get lucky and find a yorkie at the pound, 35 dollars.

and they bark constantly, are very hyper, they do bite if they aren’t properly socialized, and they are TERRIERS. Translate that into TERRORS and then you will be prepared to own one.

it is small.
it can be very nippy and bark a lot if you don’t train it.
and it is more care intensive than many other dogs.
for one, it has hair instead of normal dog fur. this requires more grooming than normal. also, as it is small, it also has a small bladder which requires you to let it out more often than other dogs.

they are good dogs, but don’t think that they are easy to take care of.
depending on the exact size you get, they will range from 0 – 00. the smaller ones cost more.

Yorkies run anywhere from 0.00 on uo to ,500.00 It just depends on their background and also if the parents were show dogs. You can get a very nice one for 4 to 5 hundred dollars by just watching you local newspaper.

Who told you they don’t bite? ANY dog that is poorly trained, socialized, etc WILL bite – it’s up to YOU, the owner, to make sure they do not through proper training, socialization, mental stimulation, etc.

Yorkies and other small dogs are notorious nippers because MANY people don’t bother to do anything with them – they’re also known to be spoilt rotten….

A for “easy to care for”… again, where DID you get your info? Yorkies need as much care as any other dog – they need daily food and water, They need to be housebroken (harder to do because of their small inards.) They need to be taught basic manners and obedience, they need socialization with other dogs and people to prevent aggression. They need daily walks. They need daily brushing AND frequent trip to the groomers for clipping. They need vet visits…

About the only “easy” thing is they have smaller poop, aren’t hard to control, and they don’t cost as much because they’re smaller. Just keep that in mind – even a small dog will need work.

A Yorkie from a reputable breeder will be 0+ for pet quality, ,300+ for show quality. From a rescue i etimate anywhere from -0. That is NOT including initial supply costs, first vet check, monthly fees, or any emergencies that may pop up.

I spent over 0 on start up fees for my dog and i spend around 0 a month for her monthly needs (food, prevention, etc.) One visit for an ear infection was around , another for allergies (chewing paws) was around 0.

Owning a dog isn’t THE most expensive thing ever, but it sure isn’t cheap. If you don’t have a reliable income that takes care of YOUR needs and brings in more than enough extra, don’t get a dog. If you’re going to be relying on ONLY paying for things on payday, don’t get a dog (the vet and emergencies won’t wait for your paycheck.)

welll, I have a yorkie-POO

I think he is sooooo adorable! But I guess other people didn’t because he started off at 1500 dollars, and they had to keep reducing him. He ended up being only 400.

But, on august 25, I’m getting a jack russell, thats only 200 bucks….. Its not from the pet store, so I guess they get their cuts!

depends on the quality of the pooch and the breeder you buy them from.
