I am sure there is a crap yorkie breeder out there selling off colored yorkies for more than they should be and saying they are rare or exotic or what have you. Not going to help you find one though.

BTW all yorkies are to be “‘small” 7 pounds and under.

@DaBasset: Now now “well bred” yorkies don’t come in black. There is a POS breeder in my general area who sells partis and chocolate yorkies *gags*

Answer by DaBasset *Will this site EVER work right?*
Yorkies don’t come in black. They are blue and tan. The woman was wrong.

Ya they exist and rpare really rare. Rescue a dog instead.

If you saw a all black Yorkshire Terrier, it was not a purebred dog. It was poorly bred. Any reputable breeder will sell you a dog, but not one that is a solid color because they don’t come that way.
As for the growth they should be under 10 inches at shoulder and weigh between 6-8 pounds when an adult.

very rare – good luck! plus that would be considered a poorly breed yorkie as it does not meet breed standards which means that if probably came from a bad breeder!

Answer by Still Can’t Think of a Name
I don’t think it’s impossible, but if the dog was really a Yorkie, it was a poorly bred BYB dog. Reputable breeders breed for breed distinctions and a solid colored Yorkie would not be qualified for any registry, etc. They want the typical steel blue/tan markings, so even if the dog wasn’t a solid black, it would still be rejected. If you want a “black Yorkie”, check your shelters for some mix or find a reputable Scottish Terrier breeder if you don’t mind a slightly larger dog with a longer snout.

it was probably a yorkie MIX.. not a purebred
